Dawn's Gingersnaps
I made these today, at my husband's request. Thought I'd share.

INGREDIENTS
1 Cup white sugar
1 egg beaten
¾ Cup shortening
4 Tbls. molasses
2 Cups flour
1 Tsp. ginger
1 Tsp. cloves
1 Tsp. cinnamon
1 Tsp. salt
2 Tsp. soda

DIRECTIONS
Mix the above ingredients together. Don't work dough too much. Form a ball, about the size of a walnut, in hands. Dip one side in granulated sugar (I prefer raw sugar) and place sugar side up on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until lightly browned and crinkly on top. (I usually bake for 8 minutes, then let them sit on the cookie sheet for a minute or two before I transfer them to a cooling rack.)

These look so soft and chewy. The raw sugar is a great touch!
