Basic Vanilla Ice Cream

*
INGREDIENTS
1 quart of Cream or Half & Half *
1 tablespoon vanilla
3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
*
DIRECTIONS
Combine ingredients. Pour mixture into the canister of an ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer's directions. Makes about a quart of smooth and creamy ice cream.
*
* Using cream makes a richer creamier ice cream. Using Half & Half or part milk and Half & Half makes a lighter ice cream, but takes longer to freeze.

We made this after church last Sunday. After the ice cream was done, we took plastic containers(the ones I usually use for freezer jam) and put a few scoops of ice cream into each one. Then evryone mixed in their favorite toppings. Chocolate chips, strawberries, Oreos, etc. Then we placed our 'personalized' ice cream containers into the freezer, saving them for dessert later that night. It was fun! :)
