Baked Apple Pancake

INGREDIENTS
2 apples peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Cinnamon sugar, as desired
Toasted pecan pieces, optional
1 1/2 cup dry pancake mix
1 1/4 cup water

DIRECTIONS
Peel, core and thinly slice apple and cook in butter on medium heat till tender.
Mix in maple syrup and brown sugar and cook over low heat till well blended.
Spread apple/syrup mixture in 9 inch round cake pan.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar as desired and optional toasted pecan pieces.
Blend together dry pancake mix and water and in bowl till smooth.

Spoon pancake mix evenly over apples.
Bake pancake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Invert on plate and cut into wedges to serve. Makes approximately 6 servings.
